    Patriots 53-Man Roster Projection 2.0

Two questions loomed large in our latest roster projection: 1.) How does the Cam Newton signing effect the Patriots roster plans? 2.) How will the shortened offseason effect undrafted free agents? The Patriots have had an undrafted free agent make the final roster 16 seasons in a row. That streak could now be in jeopardy as there are no preseason games and offseason rosters have to be reduced from 90 to 80. The Patriots have already cut their roster down to 80 players. Three Patriot Players Primed for a Breakout Season on Defense

The Patriots had one of, if not the best, defenses in the NFL a season ago. It became very clear early on in the 2019 season that the defense was the strength of the team. Not only was the defense talented, but the Patriots were one of the deepest defenses in the league. Unfortunately, the free agency period put a dent in all that depth. The Patriots lost Kyle Van Noy, Jamie Collins, Elandon Robeters, and Danny Shelton. On top of all that, the Patriots also traded away Duron Harmon. To keep their standing as one of the top defenses in the NFL, the Patriots will need several players to…

Unfortunately for the Patriots, that won’t be enough to fix the problems at wideout. The Patriots need multiple receivers on the roster to step up their game.  A second-year leap from N’Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers will be critical in making the Patriots’ offense dangerous again. In this article, we’ll show you what skills Harry and Meyers can build on from their rookie season…
